Mother's Day

I am so blessed to finally be a Mother to this precious little angel.  God heard my prayer, and has given me the greatest gift possible ... Madison Makayla.

Madison's First Photoshoot

Madison was one week old when I did her first photoshoot. She was fussy at first, but once she finally fell asleep, she was a complete angel and let me pose her and dress her up. I can't wait to hang pictures of my baby all over our house!

Dreams Do Come True

On April 9th, 2013, Madison Makayla Rushin was born into this world.  While this might sound cliche', it was truly the happiest day of my life.  I have waited, prayed, and longed for this day for so long.  To know that I am now a mother to a beautiful daughter is still at time beyond comprehension.  She is definitely the apple of her mother's (and father's) eye.

Madison's birth story actually begins on the evening of April 8th at 8:30 pm.  The original plan was to arrive at the hospital, begin the induction process at 9:00 pm.  After arriving at the hospital, I began having contractions on my own, without induction.  My nurse tried as best she could to sooth the pain and help me sleep, but as the night wore on, my contractions got stronger and stronger.  At 6:00 am, I could no longer handle the pain, and was given a much needed epidural!  I was able to then sleep for about an hour before Dr. Pohl arrived at the hospital.  After doing an examination, he announced that I was 9 cm dilated!  I immediately called my mom and sister, who flew to the hospital to make it in time.  As it turns out, they had plenty of time to spare, as Madison was finally born at 12:02 pm.

All in the Details

Madison's nursery is not quite ready for the full reveal, but it has come a long way in the last week!  My goal is that by next weekend, it will be 100% ready for a sweet little baby girl.  In the meantime, here are a few bits and pieces . . .
My mom and dad came yesterday to paint while Jason and I went to a baby shower.  We are so thankful and the color makes the room bright and airy . . . perfect lighting for picture taking in the future. :)

Mom and I organized and even put together the bouncy seat all by ourselves!  Excuse my un-showered, un-make-up-ed face here.
